In 2014 a group of parents met to discuss ways of interacting with the kura. Most had come from kōhanga and were used to being more involved in what was happening with their child.
Some were interested in organising sports and others just wanted to have some say in their child's education.
This group has now organised itself into a support group for children, whānau and teachers of the kura. group is named themselves LMP which is an acronym for Like Minded Pakeke. The group support whānau in the kura, they involve themselves in kura programmes, organise sports, provide support to parents, students and kaiako, run fundraisers and provide a morning tea once a term to thank teachers and support staff of the kura. They can be contacted on Facebook alternatively please contact Pania Mitchell from the BoT.
