Hākinakina

Kaukau - Swimming
A swimming programme is facilitated by the kura for all primary and intermediate students at Cannons Creek Pools and the Arena.

Hākinakina - Whānau / School Sports
The whānau compete against each other in various competitions during the year. Swimming, athletics, manu kōrero and Māori games.  Whānau are invited to attend and even participate at times, keep a look out and haere mai ki te pakanga mō te whānau a tō tamaiti.

Waka Ama
All wharekura students are encouraged to trial at the beginning of the year for the Waka Ama Nationals Secondary School Competition at Tikitapu in Rotorua. Coaches are brought in from outside the kura to train the students.  Waka Ama training starts as soon as kura begins in February. For more information please contact the tari (office)

Rino Māori - Iron Māori
TKMP enters the annual Iron Māori competition every year in November. Great way for the family to get fit and see the country. For more information see Whaea Kataraina or Whaea Parerāwhiti.

Hākinakina ā-Kura - Interschool Sports
Because of numbers the kura is not always able to enter independently into some team competitions.  The school has a MoU with Aotea College allowing our students to trial for the Aotea college sports teams.  For more information see Kōkā Kahumoana
